Podcast – Interview 66: Logos Print Library (David Lowry)

Our conversation today is a little different than most of the others we’ve done. I’m talking to Dave Lowry, who contributed an article in the middle section of the January/February FrontLine magazine. We call this section “the pastor’s insert” but of course, it isn’t just for pastors.

Dave’s article providentially fit right in with the theme of this edition, which was, “AI: Developing a Christian Perspective.” Dave wrote about his work for the Bible software company, Logos, and its new AI search tool as a way to find good illustrations for preaching and teaching the Bible.

I realize that talking about software that at least some of our listeners don’t use is risky. You might be inclined to turn this episode off right at the start.

I hope you’ll give a listen, because the conversation gives some insight into how we can use technology as a tool and especially AI. During this series, we’ve talked about concerns with AI and sometimes fears about how AI might lead to terrifying outcomes. I hope we’ve talked enough about it so you aren’t so fearful, but in this conversation, I hope you will see how AI and technology can be used to speed up work or find new ways of doing our work that offers new insights into the things we are trying to achieve.

As always, I want to remind you that Dave’s article is available on our Substack right away for paying subscribers. We have previews for everyone else. I hope you will join with us and support the ministry of the FBFI by becoming a paying subscriber.
