The Vice President of the United States Tours an Abortion Clinic
I want to make this one short and very clear.
The enshrinement of abortion in state constitutions and the normalization of abortion in the United States has been going on for 50 years, but this is a first. The Vice President of the United States of America, a woman who has actively opposed ANY restrictions on abortion whatsoever, visited an abortion provider. This visit was a first in American history,
This is a clinic that profits from the destruction of human beings, both the lives of children and the emotional stability of mothers. It is not hard to make the case that abortion is an attack on unborn babies—there is nothing else it can be. However, it is also an attack on women. Consider this study,
Recently, we conducted a survey of more than 1,000 American women between the ages of 41 and 45, including over 200 women who acknowledged having had abortions. The results show that close to 70 percent of the women who had abortions described them as coerced, pressured, or inconsistent with their own values and preferences. A majority experienced pressure from other people in their lives – belying the dangerous assumption that abortion is strictly a matter of “a woman’s choice.”
Kamala Harris’s visit to a Planned Parenthood facility seems like a fairly small development in the sordid history of abortion in our country. But it is a symbolic action that has not escaped the gaze of the Holy God of the universe.
There are moments in which a person publicly picks a fight with God, and this is one of them. She has publicly chosen wickedness. As the Ba’al worshippers of the Old Testament sinned by passing their children through the fire, so Kamala Harris has set herself up as a modern-day Prophetess of Ba’al.
As the eloquent preacher/poet James Weldon Johnson said,
Young man (or woman in this case), your arm’s too short to box with God.
There are appropriate times for imprecatory prayer, and this is one. Kamala Harris has set herself up as a symbol of the abortion movement in this country and we ought to ask God to deal with her as would be appropriate for the role she has chosen. God humbled arrogant wicked leaders. God humbled Pharoah. God humbled Nebuchadnezzar.
Let me be crystal clear. I am not advocating any retaliatory behavior by believers or anyone else. We must submit to the laws of the land as Romans 13:1-7 demands. We will continue to fight for the protection of the unborn within the legal systems to which we have access. However, Kamala Harris picked this fight with God Himself. He is perfectly capable of defending the helpless all by Himself. It would bring Him glory for Him to do so in such a way that brings glory to Him alone.
We call on the Vice-President of the United States of America to repent of her wickedness. Without repentance, there will be no mercy of God upon her soul.
