Introducing the Proclaim & Defend Podcast

The many avenues of communication expand faster than any of us can keep up. Podcasting is one of those new forms in our world. Almost everyone has heard of podcasting, and, seemingly, almost everyone has a podcast. Why add one more?

To start with, let me offer you our mission statement:

FBFI’s Mission is to provide a rallying point for Fundamental Baptists seeking personal revival and the opportunity to work with committed Bible-believers in glorifying God through the uncompromising fulfillment of the Great Commission.

Consequently, we employ various means to encourage revival and spread the gospel. For many decades, the chief organ of the FBFI was our magazine, FrontLine. We are thankful for its ministry over the years, but in the digital age we felt more was needed. From that desire, our blog Proclaim & Defend was born (in 2012).

In the last year or so, several of us have talked about podcasting as another form of communication. We want to do everything we can to get out the biblical Baptist worldview we proclaim. A podcast can be another way of doing that.

The format of the podcast will mostly be interviews with authors of our FrontLine articles. We believe our magazine is as good or better than most offerings in the Christian marketplace and thing the things our writers say are worth hearing. Giving them an additional voice to expand on their topic is what our podcast is all about.

We are using Substack as our podcast platform. Substack allows us to create a paid subscription level for some of our offerings. The podcasts themselves will be offered free of charge, but if you wish to read the articles behind the podcast, you will need a paid subscription to the Substack.

Monthly subscriptions are only $5.00 per month, which will provide access to at least two articles per month. Yearly subscriptions of $50 (a modest price reduction over the monthly fee) will also include a print subscription. And we certainly would be glad to see additional donations to our ministry, supporting our work of building fellowship through regional and national meetings as well as serving as a chaplain endorser with the US military services and civic and police services.

The first full podcast episode will post on Saturday, April 22, with an interview of pastor Mike Riley who gave us an article called, “Christian Ethics, Abortions, and Stem Cell Lines” in the January/February 2023 FrontLine magazine. The article addresses ethical questions related to the development of the Covid vaccine and other medications. I think you will find it very informative.

One last word on our nerves as we venture into new territory! We are sure that we’ve missed something in the settings as we get the podcast up and running. If you notice something, please send a note along to . We certainly could use some help as we get things rolling.

For the video version of the first episode, check our YouTube channel here. The audio is right here at Substack, in the next post, which you can access here.

This is great news. I’ve subscribed. Look forward to listening and following. We need more out there from fundamental Baptists. Thank you for all your efforts to get this off the ground!

I’m glad for the new approach. My only question is, “Where do I find time to read the magazine & online info AND listen to another podcast?”

Perhaps it’s just best to pick the venue that works best for me.

Keep up the good work, Don.

As I commented elsewhere, sleep is over-rated! (just kidding)

We’ll do our best to make the content interesting. I have found the process of interviewing our authors to be very interesting, so I hope our readers will also. We are blessed by many gifted leaders who contribute to our magazine.
