On President Trump and Paula White

According to the NY Times (here), Paula White will now be officially serving in the White House as an aide to shore up President Trump’s relationship with evangelicals.

Now that is perplexing since Paula White is a false teacher.

She preaches and teaches a prosperity gospel that does great damage to the true gospel and undermines true servants of God around the world. One of the most helpful exposés on this false gospel is the film American Gospel: In Christ Alone (reviewed here). Nixon had Billy Graham and Barak Obama had Rick Warren. I guess it just goes to show that the marriage of religion and politics produces some strange and disturbing relationships indeed. After all, the Reagan White House sought astrological guidance from Joan Quigley.

It is understandable why Trump likes White. She is a female version of himself. She has been married three times, lives in gaudy wealth, and makes no apologies for her corruption of the true Christian faith. She presently wears the last names of a former husband (Randy White, 1997-2006) and rock and roll keyboardist Jonathan Cain, to whom she is now married.

Evangelical and fundamentalist Christians not only voted for Trump but also, in many ways, are indebted to him for rolling back some of the restrictions on religious freedom that abounded under Barak Obama. He has appointed constructionist judges and defended the rights of the unborn. However, this development ought to cause true believers great concern. While Trump’s association with White is not new—she prayed with him in private before he accepted his nomination and prayed again at his inauguration—such a public affirmation of the most scam-filled and fraudulent wing of professing Christianity cannot help but bring a blot on the name of Christ in the eyes of a lost world.

Paula White’s version of Christianity does damage to the Christian faith. It is not true Christianity and we claim no identity with it whatsoever. President Trump would be wise to distance himself from it.

You, sir, need to apologize for this article and your horrible attitude. Did you learn nothing from the Beth Moore / John McArthur blowup? Just because a woman is a woman does not mean she’s “bad”!

      Sheila
Thank you for your comment. The objection to Paula White has nothing to do with the fact that she is a woman. Perhaps you could read the article again? It is her teaching and behaviour that are objectionable.
