Supreme Court Connection: An Interview with Maricopa County Prosecutor Rachel Mitchell
Rachel Mitchell will be questioning the Supreme Court nominee tomorrow. Some media organizations picked up an interview we did with her in 2012 for our magazine, FrontLine. We posted the interview on our site in two parts (Part One, Part Two).
Rachel Mitchell is unknown to many. Our interview was for an issue of our magazine dealing with the subject of abuse prevention in churches. We sought her out because she did a seminar on child abuse as a part of her role with the Maricopa County Attorney’s office. We were seeking to provide advice to churches on how to establish environments that are safe and abuse free. In particular, we thought her advice beneficial because of her experience in prosecuting church-related abuse and her insight into the particular dangers that can occur in church settings.
We are unaware of Ms. Mitchell’s religious or political beliefs. Our interest in her was as an expert consultant on this issue. She has had no previous or subsequent relationship with our organization.
